When should I start looking for an outfit ?
In normal times we have two main stock deliveries per year for our plus size mother of the bride and groom dresses – usually beginning of January to mid February for Spring & Summer (this delivery will cover all weddings up to end of October) and July for Autumn & Winter.(for weddings taking place usually between November and February)
We only ever order ONE of each size in any particular style and not all styles are ordered in every size .
Once we have sold out of a size in a particular style we can’t then reorder.
Don’t delay and lose out on your perfect outfit by leaving it too late as our appointment diary gets booked up several weeks in advance!!
Please don’t think that you have to lose weight before you visit us – we stock a large selection of around 1000 outfits, dresses and floaty trouser suits in sizes 8-32+ for all seasons all year round along with around 400 matching hats and fascinators in every colour of the rainbow!
During 2023 we are specialising in sizes 16-32+ only so will not be ordering any more new stock of sizes 8-14.That said we do have a great range of the smaller sized wedding outfits still in stock and we have a custom made to order range from ladies UK size 20-50.We also stock dresses suitable for wedding guest and ladies day at the races or even if you want something a little less formal for a wedding abroad
Outfits usually need some form of minor alteration due to the European sizing and they can usually be taken down by up to three dress sizes , should your body change shape before the wedding.
Alteration costs are roughly between £50-£100 depending on how much work is involved and type of fabric .
Do I have to make an appointment ?
The short answer is Yes!
Our peak time is between January and September when we are extremely busy particularly at weekends so it it is strongly advisable to get your appointment booked in as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
Please be aware we cannot accommodate walk ins for browsing unless we have a cancellation. We provide a personal one to one fitting service and we pride ourselves on selecting the perfect outfit for you for your occasion- in nearly every case our selection is not the customers original choice .
In fact our customers tell us time and time again that they would never have even considered their final choice from looking at it on the hanger. It is highly unlikely that you will “know it when you see it” just from your own browsing of our ranges which is why we work by appointment only to give you the benefit of our extensive experience in helping you look and feel amazing!

We are always closed on Bank Holidays
You can bring up to 2 adult guests with you to your appointment. In exceptional circumstances we can accomodate 3 adult guests with you , however please bear in mind it is a bit of a squeeze! We strongly recommend that you choose your guest(s) wisely and be mindful that too many differing opinions can just end up causing confusion and overwhelm.If the bride /your partner or your best friend etc would need to see the outfit before purchase please arrange your appointment when they can come with you as we are unable to hold outfits and once sold we can’t reorder.
Unfortunately we cannot accommodate any children under 10 or babies in the shop due to our insurance.
If both mother of the bride and mother of the groom want to visit us at the same time , we can only accomodate both in consecutive appointments one after the other .There will be no one else in the shop at the same time.
How long does an appointment last?
A trying on appointment will last for a maximum of 1.5 hours during which time our experienced style consultants will bring all the outfits to you. We work like your own personal shopper so you do not browse the shop . Please keep an open mind and try on our suggestions as often they don’t have hanger appeal and you are unlikely to “know it when you see it!”
We will always ask you to view our videos before your visit so that you can get an idea of styles/colours etc and it also helps us select some outfits for you to start with.
We won’t accessorise every outfit you try on – rather we will wait till near the end of the appointment when you have narrowed your choice down to the final one or two .The final choices will be fully accessorised with hat/fascinator/shoes and bag.
Please attend your appointment with your special guest who would need to see the outfit before purchase .
There is more than enough time to accessorise during your 1.5 hour appointment – there’s no need to book a separate hat/fascinator appointment.
Accessory Appointments
If you’ve already bought your mother of the bride or groom,wedding guest or ladies day dress , we offer stand alone accessory appointments at 9am or 9.45 am only Mondays to Sundays which will last for up to 45 minutes.
Please note we do not usually offer hat/accessory appointments at any other times unless we have had a last minute cancellation . Our website is unable to allow correct booking time for hat /accessory appointments so please call us on 01905 622233 if you want to book an accessory appointment at another time and we will try to fit you in if we can.
Please bring your dress with you so we can match up the colours from our vast selection of around 400 different wedding hats and fascinators.

How many people can I bring with me ?
In order to avoid two trips to the shop (and potential disappointment if the outfit sells), we would strongly recommend you arrange your appointment at a time when you can bring the person whose opinion would matter enough to change your mind about the outfit e.g. if it is important the bride or your partner sees your outfit before purchase , it would be advisable to make an appointment when they can accompany you.

Our appointments are always in high demand so we may not be able to offer you a further appointment for several weeks if you would need someone else to see the outfit before purchase. This is why we recommend scheduling your appointment when your special guest can come with you and give you their opinion as we cannot hold outfits and only have one of every size of any particular style .
If you visit us without the person who would need to see the outfit before purchase and do want to return with them to see it at a later date(providing the outfit is still available),you will be offered a short appointment lasting no more than 30 minutes at either 9am or 9.45am if the appointment has to be at a weekend unless there is a last minute cancellation available. We are unable to offer a repeat appointment at any other time .Repeat appointments are subject to availability and are extremely limited during peak months
What Size do you go up to?
We are a plus size specialist and keep sizes 8-38 in the shop and our custom made outfits from Penguin Designs (including the Trouser Suits) can be made up to a UK size 50.

What are your opening hours ?
We work by appointment only between 9am and 5pm Monday to Sunday. We are always closed on ank Holidays.
During peak times we are also open on some Sundays .
Our outfit appointment times are 9am, 10.30am, 12pm,2pm and 3.30pm only
We are closed for lunch between 1.30pm and 2pm.
Standalone Hat/Accessory appointments are only available at either 9am or 9.45am Monday to Sunday ,unless we have a cancellation.(Please call the shop on 01905 622233 before booking an accessory appointment)
Is there parking ?
Yes there is plenty of free parking directly outside the shop in our own allocated car park spaces.
What is your price range?
Our designer outfits and dresses vary in price depending on brand.
Prices range from £250-£795 with the “average” price for a dress and jacket/ long coat around the £500 mark.
Dresses range in price from £250-£825 with the “average” dress being £395
Hats and fascinators range from £85-£325
Matching shoes and bag sets range from £95-£260 for the set
Is there disabled access to the shop ?
The shop is all at ground level with a standard width door which can accomodate wheelchairs . Disabled customers can park directly outside the shop.The changing rooms are also wide enough to accomodate a helper or a wheelchair .We do not have a disabled toilet.
Do you have a good selection of outfits to try on ?
At peak times we stock around 1000 outfits, dresses and trouser suits in sizes 8-38 for mother of the bride,mother of the groom,wedding guest and ladies day at the races.
We do keep all seasons all year round.
We have an extensive plus size selection we are one of the largest plus size mother of the bride and groom stockists in the Midlands.
We also have around 400 matching hats and fascinators.
Do I need to bring anything with me or wear anything specific when I come for my appointment ?
We advise you wear or bring with you the underwear you may wear on the day. Sometimes ladies feel more comfortable in shapewear if the dress is particularly fitted and a strapless bra can be useful if the dress is off the shoulder or has a sheer neckline.
The right underwear can really make the difference to how a dress fits .We often recommend a local specialist bra fitter who will help you find the right under garments.
We do have shoes available to try on however if you have a particularly wide /narrow foot or you are less than size 3 or bigger than size 8, we would advise you bring a pair of neutral shoes or shoes of the heel height that you would normally wear.
