When should I start looking for an outfit ?

We have three main stock deliveries per year usually the previous August / September and January / February for  Spring & Summer and July for Autumn & Winter.It’s important to note that we get incredibly busy when the new stock arrives into store so it’s worthwhile making an appointment to come in and try on before the outfits go! We don’t order every outfit in every size and as we have to order our stock 6 months in advance, it is unlikely that we will be  able to re-order other sizes if they sell out so it’s always advisable to purchase the outfit there and then rather than go looking round other shops .

What Size do you go up to?

We stock standard and plus sizes between size 8-38 in the shop and our custom made outfits from Penguin Designs (including the Trouser Suits) can be made  up to a UK size 40.

Do I have to make an appointment ?

The short answer is Yes!

However we do keep appointments available at short notice.  Please be aware that if we are fully booked we cannot accommodate walk ins.

How long does an appointment last?

A trying on appointment will last for 1.5 hours during which time our experienced style consultants will help select outfits for your to try on.We can accommodate a maximum of two ladies trying on outfits at the same time (ideal if both mums want to try on)and you have our full attention during this period.You may bring one other person to accompany you .Unfortunately we do not have enough space to accommodate extended wedding parties to your appointment so we would suggest you only bring one or two key people to help you choose your outfit.

How many people can I bring with me ?

We can only accomodate a maximum of two people per customer but ideally only one person to accompany you to your appointment.This is because we have found in our experience too many people all have a different opinion and end up causing confusion to the lady who is trying on. In order to avoid two trips to the shop we would recommend you arrange your appointment at a time when you can bring the person whose opinion would matter enough to change your mind about the outfit e.g. if it is important the bride sees your outfit before purchase , it would be advisable to bring her to the appointment.

What are your opening hours ?

Monday – Friday 10am-4pm

Saturday 9am-5pm

We are always closed on Sundays and Bank Holidays

Is there parking ?

Yes there is plenty of free parking directly outside the shop in our own allocated car park spaces.

Is there disabled access to the shop ?

The shop is all at ground level with a standard width door which can accomodate wheelchairs .

Do I need to bring anything with me or wear anything specific when I come for my appointment ?

We advise you bring with you the underwear you may wear on the day.We often find ladies feel more comfortable in shapewear if the dress is particularly fitted and sometimes a strapless bra is useful.

We do have shoes available to try on however if you have a particularly wide /narrow foot or you are not a common size, we would advise you bring a pair of neutral shoes or shoes of the heel height that you would normally wear.

Lovely shop with a huge range of outfits. I went with my Mum who was really unsure what sort of outfit she was looking for but Kirsten was really helpful and let us try on a range of styles until Mum found exactly what she wanted. We even bought the hat, bag and shoes to go with the outfit so it was all sorted in the one shop – perfect!
