When should I start looking for an outfit ?

In normal times we have two  main stock deliveries per year for our mother of the bride and groom dresses – usually January / February for  Spring & Summer (this delivery will cover all weddings up to end of October) and July for Autumn & Winter.(for weddings taking place usually between November and February)

2021 is very different due to the global pandemic. We were only able to place very limited new orders for this year as our trade show where we order all our mother of the bride and groom stock has been cancelled .

This means that realistically we are anticipating stock shortages for most of this year and it would be strongly advisable to get an appointment booked in the diary as soon as possible if you want the best selection in your size.

After we have received the limited 2021 stock we will not be having any further new stock deliveries until January 2022.

Don’t worry – we do keep several winter styles in stock all year round so even if your wedding is November or December this year we are bound to have something to suit.

Due to the pandemic we have had to reschedule many, many appointments both from last year (whose weddings have been postponed to this year) and now from January,February and March this year too.

This is alongside our normal appointments for weddings in 2021.We only have limited appointment availability before we are at full capacity and won’t be able to take on any further bookings.

 

Once we have sold out of a size in a particular style we can’t then reorder.

Don’t delay and lose out on your perfect outfit by leaving it too late !!

Please don’t worry you have to lose weight before you visit us – we carry around 600 outfits, dresses and floaty trouser suits in sizes 8-38 for all seasons all year round along with around 300 matching hats and fascinators.

Outfits usually need some form of minor alteration due to the European sizing and they can usually be taken down by up to three dress sizes , should your body change shape before the wedding.

We’ve also got dresses suitable for wedding guest and ladies day at the races or even if you want something a little less formal .

Do I have to make an appointment ?

The short answer is Yes!

However we try to keep appointments available at short notice.  Please be aware we cannot accommodate walk ins for browsing. We provide a personal one to one fitting service and we pride ourselves on selecting the perfect outfit for you for your occasion- in nearly every case our selection is not the customers original choice .

In fact our customers tell us time and time again that they would never have even considered their final choice from looking at it on the hanger. It is highly unlikely that you will “know it when you see it” just from your own browsing of our ranges which is why we work by appointment only to give you the benefit of our extensive experience in helping you look and feel amazing!

Appointments are available Mondays to Sundays at 9am,10.30am, 12pm, 2pm and 3.30pm only (We are always closed on Bank Holidays )

On Fridays and Saturdays we can only accommodate one adult guest with you to your appointment.

During the week Monday to Thursday and on Sundays we can accommodate up to two adult guests with you .

 If both mums want to come together we can fit them in at the same time on Fridays and Saturdays only (subject to availability ).Please note as Saturdays tend to get booked up several weeks in advance , it is more likely that we can fit both mums in sooner on a Friday .If the appointment has to be on a Saturday there may be a wait of several weeks before we can fit them both in at the same time.

How long does an appointment last?

 

A trying on appointment will last for a maximum of 1.5 hours during which time our experienced style consultants will help select outfits for you to try on. Please keep an open mind and try on our suggestions as often they don’t have hanger appeal and you are unlikely to “know it when you see it!”

 

We won’t accessorise every outfit you try on – rather we will wait till near the end of the appointment when you have narrowed your choice down to the final one or two .The final choices will be fully accessorised with hat/fascinator/shoes and bag.

 

There is more than enough time to accessorise during your 1.5 hour appointment – there’s no need to book a separate hat/fascinator appointment.

 

If you’ve already got your mother of the bride or groom dress , we offer stand alone accessory appointments on Sundays which will last for up to 45 minutes. Please bring your dress with you so we can match up the colours from our vast selection of around 300 different wedding hats and fascinators.

 

Our Saturday appointments are reserved for customers looking to find their outfit or dress and we cannot accommodate stand alone hat /accessory appointments on Saturdays unfortunately.

 

 Please be aware our insurance prevents us from having prams or children in the shop for health and safety reasons

 

 

What are the appointment times?

Please be aware we work to fixed appointment times and cannot accommodate browsing.

In order to comply with government restrictions  regarding social distancing we have had to significantly reduce the number of available appointments.

Our appointment times are now 9am, 10.30am, 12pm,2pm and 3.30pm only .

Appointments are available Monday to Sunday except bank holidays .

 

Please call us on 01905 622233 if you would like an appointment for both mother of the bride(s) and mother of the groom(s) to visit at the same time as our online diary is unlikely to show the correct availability.

 

How many people can I bring with me ?

 

On Fridays and Saturdays we can only accommodate one adult guest with you to your appointment . This is because we usually have two customers having their appointment at the same time on those days so we don’t have enough room in the changing area to accommodate extra guests. 

On Mondays – Thursdays and Sundays we can accommodate up to two adult guests .These days are also a bit more chilled and perfect for nervous customers as it’s just you and your guest(s) and us in the shop – there aren’t any other customers in at the same time.

In order to avoid two trips to the shop (and potential disappointment if the outfit sells), we would strongly  recommend you arrange your appointment at a time when you can bring the person whose opinion would matter enough to change your mind about the outfit e.g. if it is important the bride sees your outfit before purchase , it would be advisable to make an appointment when the bride can accompany you.

What Size do you go up to?

We stock standard and plus sizes between size 8-38 in the shop and our custom made outfits from Penguin Designs (including the Trouser Suits) can be made up to a UK size 50.

Outfits -We are a Midlands stockist of Carla Ruiz, Couture Club by Rosa Clara, Sonia Pena, Lizabella, Ella Boo, Veromia Occasions , Dressed Up Plus Size,Dress Code, Cassandra and Penguin Designs.

What are your opening hours ?

 

We work by appointment only between 9am and 5pm Monday to Sunday. We are always closed on Bank Holidays. 

 

Standalone Hat/Accessory appointments are not available on Saturdays 

 

Our appointment times are 9am, 10.30am, 12pm,2pm and 3.30pm 

 

We are closed for lunch between 1.30pm and 2pm.

 

Is there parking ?

Yes there is plenty of free parking directly outside the shop in our own allocated car park spaces.

What is your price range?

Our designer outfits and dresses vary in price depending on brand.

Prices range from £195-£875 with the “average” price for a dress and jacket around the £475 mark.

Dresses range in price from £195-£695 with the “average” dress being £295

Hats and fascinators range from £85-£225

Matching shoes and bag sets range from £95-£165 for the set

Is there disabled access to the shop ?

The shop is all at ground level with a standard width door which can accomodate wheelchairs .

Do you have a good selection of outfits to try on ?

At peak times we stock around 600 outfits, dresses and trouser suits in sizes 8-38 for mother of the bride,mother of the groom,wedding guest and ladies day at the races.

We have an extensive plus size selection we are probably one of the largest plus size mother of the bride and groom stockists in the Midlands.

We also have around 300 matching hats and fascinators.

Do I need to bring anything with me or wear anything specific when I come for my appointment ?

We advise you wear or bring with you the underwear you may wear on the day. We often find ladies feel more comfortable in shapewear if the dress is particularly fitted and sometimes a strapless bra is useful.

We do have shoes available to try on however if you have a particularly wide /narrow foot or you are not a common size, we would advise you bring a pair of neutral shoes or shoes of the heel height that you would normally wear.

Lovely shop with a huge range of outfits. I went with my Mum who was really unsure what sort of outfit she was looking for but Kirsten was really helpful and let us try on a range of styles until Mum found exactly what she wanted. We even bought the hat, bag and shoes to go with the outfit so it was all sorted in the one shop – perfect!
